Author agreement

1. Your declaration

By submitting or resubmitting a book you confirm that you are at least 18, have read this agreement and the terms of use, and hold the rights or permissions needed for every submitted element: text, excerpt, cover, translation, illustrations and any full file. If you act for a rights holder, you must have authority for this specific publication. Do not submit confidential manuscripts or third-party personal information without a lawful basis. An author name or AI label does not replace permission.

2. The limited licence

You grant the operator a non-exclusive permission, without a licence fee, to store and technically reproduce your submitted material, format its presentation for screens, and display the selected metadata, cover and excerpt on Utopia Library while the book is published. This includes technical delivery through the hosting infrastructure and the website’s discovery and sponsored displays when separately requested. Internet accessibility across countries is not an exclusive worldwide exploitation mandate.

Only if you expressly choose free full-book access and provide the corresponding file does this permission include making that file available for readers to download during publication. Excerpt-only or external-store mode does not authorize a public full-file download. Keep your originals. The service may retain restricted technical and evidentiary copies as explained in the privacy notice; that retention is not permission for continued public distribution.

3. Rights not granted

You do not transfer ownership or copyright, grant exclusivity, or authorize AI-model training with your work through this agreement. The operator will not use this licence to train AI models or sell training rights. Provider processing necessary to host or authenticate the service is described separately in the privacy notice and is not a grant of creative exploitation rights. This agreement does not authorize new translations, audiobooks, dramatizations, films, video adaptations, merchandising or sublicensing for those purposes.

Any later derivative service or exclusive arrangement requires a separate explicit agreement for the identified book, specifying the permitted uses, languages, territories, duration, compensation or revenue share, costs, approvals, termination and delivery obligations. No automatic royalties, guaranteed earnings or future acceptance are promised. A promotional payment purchases only the approved display service and changes none of these author rights.

4. Accuracy, attribution and AI provenance

Keep the original title and credited author accurate. Declare AI involvement separately for text, cover and translation, and correct material inaccuracies when discovered. The operator may ask for evidence of permission and may make necessary presentation or metadata corrections with a recorded reason; a material creative rewrite is not authorized by this licence. Notify the operator of disputed rights or an incorrect attribution. Uploaded AI material remains subject to rights, privacy and safety rules.

5. Review, withdrawal and ending the licence

Submission saves a version for review and is not automatic publication. You can edit your own book or withdraw it in the studio; a hidden book needs a new review before returning publicly. The public-display licence ends when the book is withdrawn or removed, subject to reasonable technical removal and restricted retention described in the privacy notice. Copies previously downloaded lawfully cannot be recalled. Contest submission separately freezes the submitted version and accepted rules for that contest; review this before entering. You may appeal moderation through private support. No later terms expand this licence retroactively.
